Many anglers of all experience levels struggle to tell the difference between the most commonly found flatfish which are caught around the British Isles. This is hardly surprising as flounder, plaice and dab are all fairly similar, leading to some anglers to refer to all flatfish as ‘flatties’. However, there are a few key differences which can be used to accurately tell the differences between all of the flatfish species which are caught in the UK.
