This rig is designed to achieve maximum casting distance over clean and snag-free marks making it ideal for sandy beaches where long distances need to be reached to put a bait among the feeding fish. In order to make it as light and streamlined as possible this rig uses only one hook and clips the bait down behind an impact shield. An additional bonus is that bait is protected by the impact shield and will therefore be in a better condition when it settles on the seabed. This is a perfect rig to be used with powerful pendulum casting styles. Note: it is better to use a neoprene/rig tubing stop knot above the impact shield, rather than a crimp, as this will allow much more adjustment and movement when creating the rig and getting the hooks to meet the impact shield.
